Description

The Arabic root ḥ-d-b (حدب) conveys the core meaning of curvature, elevation, or a rising mound. In the Quran, it appears in Surah Al-Anbiya (21:96) in the phrase "min kulli ḥadabin yansilūn" (from every elevation they will descend swiftly), describing the emergence of Gog and Magog who will rapidly pour forth from every elevated place or mound as one of the major signs before the Day of Judgment. This imagery emphasizes the overwhelming nature of their appearance, spreading swiftly across the earth from all elevated terrain.
