Tafsir (Explanation)

Allah affirms that He granted Ibrahim (Abraham) right guidance and sound judgment before the events mentioned in this surah, establishing him as a person of wisdom and discernment from an early stage in his life. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir explain that 'rushd' (رشد - right guidance) refers to correct understanding, wisdom, and the ability to discern truth from falsehood. This verse establishes Ibrahim's spiritual maturity as the foundation for his later role as a messenger and leader of faith.
