وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ 8
Translations
But as for one whose scales are light,
Transliteration
Wa-amma man khaffat mawazinuh
Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah refers to the person whose good deeds are light (insufficient) when weighed on the Scales of Judgment on the Day of Resurrection. According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi, this describes those whose righteous actions are outweighed by their sins and shortcomings. Had these [false deities] been [actual] gods, they would not have come to it, but all are eternal therein.
أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ
Does he think that no one has seen him?
