Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah, concluding Surah Sad, is Allah's affirmation that the disbelievers will eventually come to know the truth of the Quranic message and its prophecies after a period of time. Classical scholars like Al-Tabari and Ibn Kathir interpret this as a reference to the ultimate vindication of the Prophet's mission, whether through the believers' eventual triumph in this world or through the Day of Judgment when all truth becomes manifest. The ayah serves as a powerful reassurance to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the believers that patience and faith will be rewarded with clear evidence of the message's truth.
Revelation Context
This ayah appears at the end of Surah Sad, a Meccan chapter revealed during the early period of Islam when the Prophet faced intense opposition and mockery from the Quraysh. The surah contains warnings to various groups of disbelievers and reaffirms divine truths. This concluding verse serves to reinforce that despite current rejection, the reality of Islam's truth will become undeniable in the future.
Related Hadiths
The theme of future knowledge and vindication relates to various hadiths about the Day of Judgment and the Prophet's prophecies coming to pass. See also Quran 38:26 in context with hadiths about the Prophet's succession and authority (Sahih Bukhari and Muslim contain related traditions about prophethood and divine knowledge).
