The contrast between seeking good and enduring hardship

لَّا يَسْـَٔمُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِن دُعَآءِ ٱلْخَيْرِ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ فَيَـُٔوسٌ قَنُوطٌ

Man is not weary of supplication for good [things], but if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing.
