فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَـٰجِزِينَ 47
Translations
And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him.
Transliteration
Fa-mā min-kum min aḥad-in ʿan-hu ḥājizīn
Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah, part of Allah's warning about the Day of Judgment, means 'So there is not one of you who can prevent it (the punishment or the Day of Reckoning) from Him.' According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, this emphasizes the absolute power of Allah on the Day of Judgment—no human being possesses any ability to shield themselves or others from Allah's decree or to obstruct His justice. The ayah underscores the futility of worldly power and connections when facing divine accountability.

And by the dawn when it breathes [i.e., stirs]
