وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ 48
Translations
And indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is a reminder for the righteous.
Transliteration
Wa-innahu latadh-kiratun lil-muttaqeen
Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah affirms that the Quran is a reminder and admonition specifically for those who fear Allah (al-muttaqun). Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir explain that while the Quran is a mercy and guidance for all humanity, its true benefit and enlightenment are realized by the God-conscious believers who reflect upon its verses and act upon its teachings. Al-Qurtubi emphasizes that the Quran's transformative power is most effective for hearts that are already inclined toward piety and obedience.

قُلْنَا ٱهْبِطُوا۟ مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا ۖ فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّى هُدًى فَمَن تَبِعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
We said, "Go down from it, all of you. And when guidance comes to you from Me, whoever follows My guidance - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.
وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى ٱللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِۦ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا
And one who invites to Allāh, by His permission, and an illuminating lamp.
۞ لَّيْسَ عَلَيْكَ هُدَىٰهُمْ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ ۗ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلِأَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُونَ إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِنْ خَيْرٍ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تُظْلَمُونَ
Not upon you, [O Muḥammad], is [responsibility for] their guidance, but Allāh guides whom He wills. And whatever good you [believers] spend is for yourselves, and you do not spend except seeking the face [i.e., approval] of Allāh. And whatever you spend of good - it will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged.
