The scholars, including Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, interpret this as emphasizing the magnitude and severity of the Day of Resurrection—its unprecedented scale and importance that surpasses all worldly matters. Al-Qurtubi notes that this phrase comes after the oath sworn by the stars and the night, underscoring how the Day of Judgment is incomparably greater than all of creation.
