تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ 7

There will follow it the subsequent [one].
Transliteration
Tattabi'uha ar-radifah
Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah refers to the second blowing of the trumpet (Sur) on the Day of Judgment, which will follow the first blowing. Al-Tabari explains that 'ar-radifah' (the following one) denotes the second blast that pursues and follows the first, bringing about the resurrection and gathering of all creation. Ibn Kathir emphasizes that this second trumpet blast will resurrect the dead and assemble them for the final reckoning, contrasting with the first blast which causes death and destruction.

Surah An-Nazi'at is a Meccan surah that vividly describes the events of the Day of Judgment and the resurrection. And, [O Muḥammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation?
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness]
