يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ 9

Translations

The Day when secrets will be put on trial,

Transliteration

Yawma tubla as-siraru

Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah refers to the Day of Judgment when all hidden secrets and innermost thoughts will be revealed and tested. According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi, "as-siraru" (secrets/hidden matters) encompasses all that people concealed in their hearts during their worldly life—their true intentions, hidden deeds, and secret beliefs. This serves as a powerful reminder that nothing remains hidden from Allah, and all will be exposed and judged on the Day of Resurrection.

Revelation Context

Surah At-Tariq is a Meccan surah focused on the themes of divine watchfulness and the certainty of the Day of Judgment. This particular ayah appears within the context of warnings about accountability, where Allah assures the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that He guards and observes all His creation, just as a guardian star watches over the night sky.

Related Hadiths
