Transliteration

Sayahdeehim wa yuslihu bālahum

Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah conveys Allah's promise that He will guide the believers and set their affairs in order. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari interpret this as Allah's commitment to those who believe and strive in His cause—He will provide them with spiritual guidance (hidayah) and improve their worldly condition (bālahum). This is part of the broader context of Surah Muhammad, which addresses the believers' struggle against disbelievers and reassures them of divine support and success.

Revelation Context

Surah Muhammad is a Medinan surah revealed during the period of conflict between Muslims and the Meccan disbelievers. This ayah appears in a passage encouraging believers to have trust in Allah's guidance despite the challenges they faced in establishing Islam. The surah addresses the realities of warfare and the spiritual conditions necessary for victory.

Related Hadiths

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever makes the Hereafter his concern, Allah will make him content and gather his affairs together; but whoever makes this worldly life his concern, Allah will scatter his affairs and make him poor in his heart.' (Jami' at-Tirmidhi 2465). This complements the promise that those who trust Allah will have their affairs set right.
