إِنِّى وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِىَ لِلَّذِى فَطَرَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ حَنِيفًا ۖ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ 79
Translations
Indeed, I have turned my face [i.e., self] toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allāh."
Transliteration
Inni wajjahtu wajhiya lilladhi fatara as-samawati wa-l-arda hanifan wa-ma ana mina al-mushrikeen
Tafsir (Explanation)
Prophet Ibrahim declares his sincere devotion and worship exclusively to Allah, the Creator of the heavens and earth, rejecting all forms of polytheism and idolatry. According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, this statement reflects Ibrahim's unwavering monotheistic conviction and his complete orientation (tawhid) toward Allah alone. Indeed, Allāh is the cleaver of grain and date seeds. He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living. That is Allāh; so how are you deluded?
وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ فَيَقُولُ أَيْنَ شُرَكَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمْ تَزْعُمُونَ
And [warn of] the Day He will call them and say, "Where are My 'partners' which you used to claim?"
