Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah describes the punishment of the disbeliever who will enter and burn in the blazing fire (sa'eer). According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, this refers to those who rejected faith and turned away from the signs of Allah, emphasizing that their ultimate destination is Hellfire as a consequence of their willful denial. The verb 'yasla' (will enter/burn) conveys both the action of entering the fire and the continuous suffering within it.
Revelation Context
Surah Al-Inshiqaq is a Meccan surah that focuses on the certainty of the Day of Judgment and the divine reckoning. This ayah appears in the latter portion of the surah (verses 7-15) which specifically contrasts the fates of the righteous believer with the disbeliever, establishing the themes of accountability and consequences in the Hereafter.
