Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah introduces the third category of people on the Day of Judgment—those from the People of the Right Hand (ashāb al-yamīn), who are the believers and righteous servants destined for Paradise. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari explain that these are those who will receive their Book of Deeds in their right hand, a sign of honor and acceptance. The context follows the description of the disbelievers and precedes the detailed blessings awaiting this blessed group.
Revelation Context
This ayah appears within Surah Al-Waqi'ah, which was revealed in Mecca and describes the events of the Day of Judgment and the three categories of souls. The surah presents a vivid picture of the resurrection and the ultimate fate of believers and disbelievers, emphasizing Divine justice and the certainty of the Hour.
