وَإِذًا لَّـَٔاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّن لَّدُنَّآ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا 67
Translations
And then We would have given them from Us a great reward.
Transliteration
Wa-idhan la-ataynāhum min ladunnā ajran `aẓīmā
Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah states that if the disbelievers had believed in what was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Allah would have granted them a tremendous reward from His presence. According to classical scholars like Al-Tabari and Ibn Kathir, this ayah emphasizes the consequence of faith—that acceptance of divine guidance leads to immense divine reward, while rejection results in loss. The 'great reward' (ajr `aẓīm) refers to the blessings of this world and the eternal rewards of the Hereafter.

تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتُجَـٰهِدُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِأَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
[It is that] you believe in Allāh and His Messenger and strive in the cause of Allāh with your wealth and your lives. That is best for you, if you only knew.
فِى جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
In the Gardens of Pleasure,
