[It is] Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the settlement.
Transliteration
Jahannama yaslawnahā wa bissa al-qarār
Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah describes the punishment of Hell (Jahannam) as an abode where the disbelievers will enter and remain, emphasizing that it is an evil and wretched place of dwelling. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi note that 'yaslawnahā' (they will enter it) conveys both the certainty of their punishment and the intensity of the heat they will experience, while 'bissa al-qarār' (evil is the abode) stresses the permanent and agonizing nature of their destination. This verse serves as a powerful warning about the consequences of rejecting faith and divine guidance.
