Tafsir (Explanation)
This ayah describes the believers dwelling eternally in Paradise as the true promise of Allah, emphasizing that His word is certain and cannot fail. Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari explain that this verse affirms the reality and permanence of Paradise as a divine guarantee, and Allah's attributes of being 'Al-Azeez' (The Mighty/Invincible) and 'Al-Hakeem' (The All-Wise) ensure the fulfillment of His promises—no force can prevent it, and His wisdom encompasses all.
Revelation Context
This ayah concludes the discussion in Surah Luqman about the rewards of the righteous. Within the broader context of the surah, which emphasizes Luqman's moral advice to his son and Allah's signs in creation, this verse serves as motivation for believers to heed the guidance and assures them of the eternal consequence of obedience. The surah addresses Meccan audiences facing opposition to their faith.
