Qala ya qawmi inni lakum nadhirun mubin
Tafsir (Explanation)
Prophet Noah declares to his people that he is a clear and manifest warner sent to them by Allah. According to Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, this statement establishes Noah's mission and authority as a messenger, emphasizing that his warning is clear and unambiguous, leaving no excuse for those who reject it. The word 'mubin' (manifest/clear) indicates that Noah's message and signs are evident and transparent, making his call unmistakable to all who hear it.
Revelation Context
This ayah appears at the beginning of Surah Nuh, which narrates Noah's call to his people over 950 years. This statement represents Noah's initial proclamation of his prophetic mission, establishing the foundation of his da'wah (call to monotheism) before describing the people's rejection and the eventual flood.
Related Hadiths
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'The most beloved of people to Allah on the Day of Resurrection will be a just leader, and the most hated will be a tyrant' (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 1329). More directly, the Quran states that all messengers came with clear warnings: 'We sent Noah to his people saying: Warn your people before a painful punishment comes to them' (Quran 71:1).

Key Lesson
This ayah reminds us that those entrusted with conveying truth—whether scholars, teachers, or parents—must do so clearly and unambiguously, taking responsibility for their message. It also teaches believers that rejecting a clear warning from a messenger brings accountability, and we should heed guidance when it is presented plainly to us.
