Al-Ahzab (The Combined Forces) · Ayah 59

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَآءِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِن جَلَـٰبِيبِهِنَّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰٓ أَن يُعْرَفْنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَيْنَ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا 59

O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allāh Forgiving and Merciful.

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Prophet
ٱلنَّبِىُّl-nabiyuO Prophet
قُلqulSay
لِّأَزْوَٰجِكَli-azwājikato your wives
وَبَنَاتِكَwabanātikaand your daughters
وَنِسَآءِwanisāiand (the) women
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīna(of) the believers
يُدْنِينَyud'nīnato draw
عَلَيْهِنَّʿalayhinnaover themselves

جَلَـٰبِيبِهِنَّ ۚjalābībihinnatheir outer garments
ذَٰلِكَdhālikaThat

أَدْنَىٰٓadnā(is) more suitable
أَنanthat
يُعْرَفْنَyuʿ'rafnathey should be known
فَلَاfalāand not
يُؤْذَيْنَ ۗyu'dhaynaharmed
وَكَانَwakānaAnd is
ٱللَّهُl-lahuAllah
غَفُورًۭاghafūranOft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمًۭاraḥīmanMost Merciful
