An-Nisa · Ayah 126

وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ مُّحِيطًا 126

Translations

And to Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And ever is Allāh, of all things, encompassing.

Transliteration

Wa-lillāhi mā fī as-samāwāti wa-mā fī al-ard. Wa-kāna Allāhu bi-kulli shay'in muhīt.

Tafsir (Explanation)

This ayah affirms that everything in the heavens and on earth belongs exclusively to Allah, emphasizing His complete ownership and sovereignty over all creation. Classical scholars like Al-Tabari and Ibn Kathir note that this declaration serves as a reminder of Allah's ultimate dominion and negates any notion of independent ownership or authority, while the phrase 'muhīt' (encompassing) indicates that Allah's knowledge and power encompass all things completely.

34:1Saba

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ

[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and to Him belongs [all] praise in the Hereafter. And He is the Wise, the Aware.

42:4Ash-Shuraa

لَهُۥ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِىُّ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.

31:26Luqman

لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلْغَنِىُّ ٱلْحَمِيدُ

To Allāh belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Indeed, Allāh is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.
