Classical scholars like Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi emphasize that Allah's response to Yusuf's sincere du'a demonstrates His attribute of being As-Samiu (The All-Hearing) and Al-Alim (The All-Knowing), affirming that He hears the cries of the oppressed and knows their true intentions, thus protecting the righteous from corruption and harm.

Revelation Context

This ayah occurs within the narrative of Yusuf's trial in Egypt, specifically following his refusal to succumb to the advances of the wife of Al-Aziz. The context is Meccan revelation, though it addresses the universal theme of divine protection for those who remain steadfast in faith. The revelation came to console the Prophet Muhammad and believers facing persecution, illustrating that Allah protects the virtuous from the plots of the wicked.
